Practice of CelibacyCelibacy is not a ritual... it is a necessity for the institution of church! Why? As per Hinduism the practice of celibacy warrants highest levels of perfection. All in the church need practicing celibacy as indulgence in sexual relationship in a church is totally ruled out. Furthermore abstention of physical sexual relationship constitutes hardly 10% of the full job. 90% celibacy needs to be practiced mentally. Maintaining hundred percent purity of thought is what celibacy is all about. In a sensual
environment... beautiful ladies galore... keeping a taboo on thoughts
requires highest level of perfection. Sage Vishwamitra... a very
accomplished sage of his era on the sight of a maiden woman taking
bath in deep dense jungles (forests) in forlorn circumstances...
fell from grace... he had to repeat the practice of celibacy all
over again! For travelers of the spiritual path... absolute celibacy needs to be practiced for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation. Only then full awakening of the Kundalini becomes possible. For gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) full awakening of the Kundalini is necessitated. On the path of pure celibacy... a maximum of two sexual indulgences per month are permitted... one is desirable! Even while living in Grihastha ashram (family life) one can follow the path of absolute celibacy... reach the stage of enlightenment and finally salvation (moksha). The institution of church must maintain highest standards. Under no circumstances must one indulge in a sexual relationship. Those who practice absolute celibacy for 12 years in continuation set an example for the society. Such is the rigid schedule... that not a single lapse is permitted! Acharya Rajneesh (aka Osho) in the last leg of spiritual pursuit mixed sex with yoga meditation. He bitterly failed. He was practically thrown out from USA. Lapses on the spiritual path... lapse in the field of celibacy means certain failure! We have only one life to live... now or never!
