Our destiny is directly related to karma performed. Someone has rightly said, "every human being is the sum total of ones thoughts". Whatever be our karma in present... accordingly shapes our future! By controlling our thoughts... by enacting requisite karma we can mould our destiny.

If our karma of present life demands our soul atman after death of the body manifesting in the house of a cobbler in the next manifestation... one simply cannot manifest the form of a prince! If we desire our soul atman to manifest the form of a prince in next life... we need enacting karma accordingly in present life.

Karma is the governing factor of the cosmic system. It is through the complex process of karma life moves from one manifestation to another. Karma works as the accountant general of the cosmic system. Every single action by every living being... physical or mental gets recorded in the books of karma!

The truth of life is... our soul atman... the spirit within has manifested the human body to work out its karma... cleanse itself of the dross impurities within! Similar as one KG of pure gold embedded within hundred KG lump of gold ore cannot separate itself of its own and requires external machinery for the same... our soul atman also requires manifesting bodies again and again.

In essence life belongs to our soul atman which is on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations... an earthly life cycle of 96.4 million years. The initial 7.3 million manifestations by our soul atman are in insect, plant and animal life... the remaining 1.1 million manifestations in the human form. The human form is the highest manifest stage in the cosmic life cycle.

Only as human beings our soul atman liberates self from the cycle of birth and death forever. The moment human beings gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha) all is over for the soul atman within. Having regained its prime pristine original pure primordial form... the need for liberated soul atman to manifest karma ceases to exist.
