Fate
free will
If we try to
understand the concept of time and karma... all becomes clear! Every
soul atman requires a maximum of 8.4 million manifestations before
it liberates forever from the cycle of birth and death. And what
does this mean for human beings? Unless a human being gains enlightenment
(kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)... no soul atman
can ever liberate.
This journey
of 8.4 million manifestations is covered in 96.4 million earthly
years... a long journey indeed! Compare this to a sojourn of 70
to 80 years in the life of a human being. The total life span of
a human being is but a spot on the scale of 96.4 million earthly
years. This clearly indicates that in the normal routine... the
destiny of a human being is rather fixed!
It gives impetus
to the surmise that human beings are fated to live life we are ordained
to! What value of one life span in 1.1 million manifestations. As
a human being alone we are required to travel 1.1 million manifestations
before reaching the stage of enlightenment and finally salvation.
Does
this mean the manifest form of a human being is achieved after passing through
a chain of 7.3 million manifestations as insect life, plant life and animal life?
Yes, the truth is so! But
amongst 6500 million people living on Mother Earth many do not submit to the will
of God. They desire expediting their journey on Mother Earth. Does this mean the
destiny of a human being is in ones hands? Yes, provided we know the path and
take charge of it! Let
me take an example- If
I am born at level 7.423456 then in the normal routine my soul atman would require
another 976544 manifestations before my soul atman liberates forever. What if
I desire gaining enlightenment and salvation within this life itself? This would
require taking a quantum jump of 976544 manifestations... is that possible? Yes,
in the spiritual domain... it is permitted! This
is like saying that born in the house of a cobbler if I decide to marry the Princess
of the state... yes; it is possible provided I do my karma accordingly. The residual
balance of my karma of all the previous lives resulted in my being born in the
house of a cobbler. But in the present manifestation by taking the control of
my destiny I can definitely marry the Princess. Giving
another example- Suppose
I am born at number 67 (at number 99 one gains enlightenment and at 100 salvation)
and to marry the Princess we need number 88. Then I need to perform requisite
karma and add 21 points to the present manifestation. Only then there is a possibility
of my getting married to the Princess. Fate
simply means life that we are destined to live. It can always be remolded in the
present manifestation. Every human being is vested with the power of discrimination...
something that separates human beings from animals. It is this power of discrimination
exercising which every human being exercises free will. It
does not mean that we are free to do anything. our soul atman the spirit within free will is governed by the
residual balance of karma of the past lives. If we are ill-fated for something
bad in life... we can avoid the ill effects by exercising our free will in the
present manifestation. And for that we need to perform our karma accordingly.
Exercising free will does not mean simply desiring anything! Free will is exercised
rather followed by requisite karma. Essay
