In the last about 150 years only two persons gained enlightenment amongst 6500 million human beings living on Mother Earth. They were Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.

Both these Saints of India have a large following world over. Everything related to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana would help... be it their own writings or authored by other people.

Swami Vivekananda... one of the best exponents of the law of karma was the famous disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Literature on Swami Vivekananda would also help. Swami Vivekananda has written a lot.

His writings clearly depict what spirituality and Hinduism is all about. The teachings of Swami Vivekananda convey a very deep inlaid truth. The messages of Swami Vivekananda are an eye opener for many.

Mahavira (the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism) and Gautama Buddha were contemporaries. Mahavira came about 2600 years earlier and about 77 years later followed Gautama Buddha.

Both gained enlightenment in their lifetime and became man gods. Lot of literature in Jainism related to Mahavira is available. Buddhist Scriptures abound with teachings of Gautama Buddha is also available in bulk.

Essence Enlightenment Enlightenment (aka kaivalya jnana in Hinduism) is the absolute and final crux of life. Enlightenment is the goal of every spiritual seeker... the end of spirituality! Enlightenment can only be obtained in the form of a human being. All lower forms of life after passing through 7.3 million manifestations reach the stage of human beings.

Gaining Enlightenment It is only as a human being the soul atman within can liberate itself from the cycle of birth and death. The soul atman gets its final release only when a human being gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha). Thereafter it is a direct journey to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism) for the soul atman within.

Reaching Self-Realization Self realization is traveling the spiritual path. Every human being has two facets of life. The physical manifest form controlled by five senses and the mind that craves for wanton desires and materialistic riches. Our spiritual being... the real self of us governed by our soul atman within! None can go astray.

Define Enlightenment Enlightenment announces the end of all. Having gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... one reaches the stage of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed! Gaining enlightenment is the end crux of cosmic life! Beyond enlightenment there remains nothing on Mother Earth. One finally gains salvation (moksha)... the end of all!
