Is Enlightenment same as Self-RealizationIf someone asks me, "Is enlightenment same as self-realization?"... The answer is straight and clear... yes, enlightenment is same as self-realization or God realization! All the three... enlightenment... self realization and god realization mean the same! What is the
meaning of enlightenment? What do people mean when they talk of
enlightenment! Is enlightenment easy to achieve? Can anyone world
over achieve enlightenment in ones lifetime? Can enlightenment be
gained over the Internet? Does enlightenment mean... death of the
ego within? Is it true if people say, "Death of the ego leads
to enlightenment"! The definition of enlightenment... the meaning of enlightenment is best explained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the foremost of all sacred scriptures existing on mother earth! Bhagavad Gita is not sole propriety of Hinduism alone... it has universal appeal! Any person world over... belonging to any religion, faith or belief can follow teachings of Bhagavad Gita without converting to Hinduism! If we follow teachings contained in 700 shlokas verses of sacred Bhagavad Gita sincerely and ceremoniously... one reaches stage of enlightenment in ones lifetime! But the fact of matter is... understanding Bhagavad Gita! The wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita can never be understood literally... it needs reading in between the lines! By following path of absolute truthfulness... by remaining sincere and truthful all along any human being world over can understand the gist of Bhagavad Gita! In absence of absolute truthfulness nothing contained in Bhagavad Gita can ever be understood! In the present materialistic world... remaining truthful all the time is the biggest task confronting mankind! How to remain truthful when most people world over (more particularly in India) indulges in corruption and nefarious activities! By practicing patience, persistence and perseverance of the highest order that can ever be practiced by human beings, one can definitely understand wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita step-by-step... shloka by shloka (verse after verse)! The problem lay in following materialistic tendencies! Prompted by a bloated ego most human beings on mother earth do not govern their destiny! They feel... their destiny is controlled by God Almighty! God Almighty has nothing to do with destiny of human beings! For understanding spiritual truths of life... we need establishing control over five senses and mind! For seekers of spiritual path... for travelers of spiritual path... reaching stage of enlightenment is reaching end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation! Having gained enlightenment... the enlightened one finally gains salvation (moksha)! Enlightenment announces reaching end of cosmic journey... liberation from cycle of birth and death forever! Enlightenment in simpler words mean... our soul atman that was on its cosmic journey of 8.4 million manifestations has finally reached cosmic end of life... regained its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form forever! This happened moment human beings gained enlightenment and finally salvation. For a soul atman... the human form is the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle! Only in human form the soul atman within liberates self from cycle of birth and death forever... never otherwise! Itself remaining inert... no soul atman can purify self of its own! It needs a medium... it needs manifesting itself through a physical form to cleanse self of dross impurities within! Travel in human form is the most pleasant experience for a soul atman! Traveling spiritual path in human form is that part of cosmic life which leads human beings directly to God Almighty! The moment human beings reached their inner self... their soul atman... the spirit within... all was over for the soul atman within! Self realization means understanding our true inner self... our soul atman gaining absolute purity! God realization also means a soul atman reaching cosmic end of life... God Almighty himself! This becomes possible when a soul atman after gaining absolute purity merges with God Almighty. This is how a child solves a puzzle... picking a piece at a time and putting it in the right place! If an independent soul atman is an independent piece of puzzle... the completed puzzle God Almighty! Every soul atman... pure or impure is God Almighty in miniscule form existing within human beings at every stage of life! Realizing our true inner essence... the spiritual consciousness is what spirituality is all about! Enlightenment can only be gained by following spiritual path... the uncharted path of pure spirituality! We can get closer to God... we can realize God following path of spirituality as detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! Self realization... God realization... enlightenment can never be gained via path of religion... path of rituals! Enlightenment... stage of self realization... God realization is a permanent state! Once realized... the bud having become a flower cannot become a bud again! The process is always irreversible! Even God Almighty does not interfere in matters cosmic! God Almighty always acts as a Dhrishta (onlooker)... never interfering with creation of his! The moment we understand the correct definition of God Almighty... definition of soul atman... the concept behind self realization... God realization... enlightenment becomes clear of its own! God Almighty is not form of human beings. It is a massive primordial cosmic power... the combined total of all purified souls atmans in the cosmos at a given moment of time! If an independent grain of sand is a soul atman... the whole mound God Almighty! Gaining enlightenment is reaching our inner pure state... the form of absolute purity that can be achieved by a soul atman! Devoid of dross impurities within... the impure soul atman finally gains absolute purity... reaches cosmic end of life! Stated otherwise... in absence of dross impurities within the need for a soul atman to manifest life further now ceased to exist! Right from stage of amoeba (single cell formation)... the first manifestation in cosmic life cycle to stage of human beings gaining enlightenment... the goal of life remains our soul atman gaining absolute purity! The whole crux of cosmic life is... every soul atman reaching its cosmic end, the 8.4 millionth manifestation... last in cosmic life cycle! Ever since a soul atman started its cosmic journey... it got mired in impurities! To cleanse self of dross impurities within... starts cosmic life cycle of every soul atman! The complex process of karma assists every soul atman in reaching cosmic end of life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation! Reaching human stage means... our soul atman has already manifested 7.3 million forms in insect, plant and animal life! In the human form itself we have 1.1 million manifestations to reach stage of enlightenment... self realization... God realization! The prime reason why God realization... self realization... enlightenment is not that easy to gain! God Almighty ordained a maximum journey of 12.4 million years in human form to reach stage of enlightenment... self realization... God realization! Accomplishing enlightenment in a lifespan of 70 to 80 years of life is nothing short of a miracle! In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over only two persons gained enlightenment... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! Ever since Christianity got its footing... none other than Jesus Christ reached stage of enlightenment! None in the West understands what enlightenment... self realization... God realization is all about! Standing on second-floor of empire state building we cannot view whole of New York... we need climbing to top! In field of pure spirituality there are no shortcuts. We have to establish absolute control over five senses and mind, practice absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation for reaching stage of enlightenment... self realization... God realization! Only then full awakening of Kundalini Shakti... the coiled Serpentine energy lying dormant in base of spine gets activated! The moment this happens... the moment our kundalini awakens fully... the Sahasrara Chakra (thousand petaled Lotus) existing in our brain behind the forehead opens fully! The entire wisdom of cosmos is now at our tips... we practically become immortal... gain omniscience for all practical purposes... become the knower of all! Every enlightened one reaches stage of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed! Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... both became man gods by becoming an enlightened one! Following teachings related to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana is of great help in realizing God... reaching stage of enlightenment! Bhagavad Gita... the foremost of all sacred scriptures of Hinduism is one single scripture knowing which human beings world over can easily gain enlightenment! Albert Einstein the famous physicist activated his brain 4%... normal human beings used their brain one percent! Albert Einstein tried fathoming wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita in the later stages of his life. He was truly fascinated by wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita!
