Lord Krishna King ArjunaLord Krishna persuaded King Arjuna to perform ones karma and not shy away from it! When King Arjuna saw his maternal grandfather Bhishma Pitamaha, his spiritual mentor Guru Dronacharya, his various cousins and friends standing across in the battlefield... he refused to fight! At this point Lord Krishna imparted to Arjuna the doctrine of Bhagavad Gita... the real essence of life! As per Bhagavad Gita the control of life belonged to our soul atman... the spirit within and not the bodily self! Lord Krishna emphasized Arjuna was not fighting his brethren for the sake of fight... but Dharma (righteousness) had to be re-established at all costs. As per Lord Krishna... as per doctrine of Bhagavad Gita... our soul atman manifests a total of 1.1 million human bodies in a lifetime! Whom we consider as our relative or friend... may have been our foe in the previous manifestation. Who knows what we shall be in the next manifestation? We are not fighting each other for winning or the fear of losing something... we are fighting for the sake of our country... our countrymen! As a King, Arjuna had a responsibility towards his countrymen which he cannot forsake on any account... whatever the excuse! The moment King
Arjuna realized the absolute truth of life... he agreed to fight
the enemy that consisted of his close relatives and friends! The
teachings of Bhagavad Gita do not have a parallel in mankind. The
knower of Bhagavad Gita finally gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)
and salvation (moksha).
