Hinduism
religion
Hinduism primarily
is not a religion... it is termed a way of life! Why? Every religion
stems from the following of an enlightened one. Both Buddhism and
Christianity developed after Gautama Buddha and Jesus Christ but
Jainism does not derive its roots from teachings of Mahavira alone.
In Jainism earlier to Mahavira there were 23 tirthankaras (preceptors).
India before
becoming an independent republic was invaded from the east by Muslim
invaders numerous times in the past! The invaders had to cross river
Indus for the onslaught. The Muslims pronounced H for I. With passage
of time people living beyond river Indus came to be known as Hindus
and the religion... the beliefs followed by them as Hinduism.
Hinduism is
primarily a conglomerate of various cultures, dogmas and creeds!
Initially came Vedas; words of God that were directly invoked by
the sages of that era! The four primary Vedas... the Rig Veda, Sama
Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda were voluminous documents... incomprehensible
to the masses!
Came Lord Krishna
around 3600 years before and the gist of four Vedas was reduced
to the sacred Bhagavad Gita... which is also termed Vedanta (end
of Vedas). One can find the substance of Bhagavad Gita hanging in
every shop in India. In Hinduism we have many Upanishads (independent
treatises) by renowned sages and saints of their era.
Furthermore
we have two epics... the sacred Mahabharata and Ramayana that form
the core of Hinduism. As far as sacred literature is concerned...
Hinduism is never short of anything. Amongst all sacred scriptures
available on Mother Earth, Bhagavad Gita is the foremost of all.
For gaining enlightenment fathoming the depth of wisdom contained
in Bhagavad Gita is necessitated.
Mahavira, Gautama
Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... all gained enlightenment
following the teachings of the sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism!
Literally Hinduism is the foremost of all religions existing on
Mother Earth. Ever since mankind came into being, Dharma existed.
With the advent of enlightened ones followed different religions.
For gaining
enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha), Bhagavad
Gita is the only document on Mother Earth that paves way for reaching
the end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... the
last in the cosmic life cycle! The knower of Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism
finally becomes the knower of all... gains omniscience for all practical
purposes!
Hinduism has
no parallel in mankind. For gaining the wisdom contained in sacred
Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism one need not convert to Hinduism. Remaining
in ones religion anyone can follow the dictates of Bhagavad Gita.
The contents of Bhagavad Gita are universal in nature. It appeals
to all world over.
