Immortality
In
the last about 150 years only two persons gained enlightenment
amongst 6500 million human beings living on Mother Earth.
They were Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.
Both these Saints of India have a large following world
over. Everything related to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and
Maharishi Ramana would help... be it their own writings
or authored by other people.

- Concept
of Immortality
Immortality
is a fact of life for the soul atman... the spirit within
and not the bodily physical self! As a human being... a
human body one can never gain physical immortality. Such
a phenomenon simply cannot be! In the domain of God nothing
physical exists. Broken down to the basic building block
of the Cosmos... even human beings are a cluster of atoms
and molecules.

- Gaining
Immortality
In
the bodily form... immortality can never be gained. It was
never meant to be. Gaining immortally and living in heaven
(termed Swarga in Hinduism) are not to be. Heaven exists
in the core of sun where temperatures exceed millions of
degrees centigrade. It is in such high temperatures the
soul atman feels comfortable.

- Stage
of Immortality
Can
human beings truly reach the stage of immortality? Can we
ever become immortal? So is never to be. Human beings...
the physical manifest self never gains immortality! Why?
Immortality is the domain of our soul atman... the spirit
within. It is our soul atman that has manifested the human
body to work out its karma... remove the dross impurities
within.

- Become
Immortal
However
immortality is meant for travelers of the spiritual path.
Those who gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in their
lifetime become immortal. Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus
Christ and Prophet Mohammed... all gained enlightenment
in their lifetime... became immortal!
