Definition
of Karma
The moment we
understand the definition of karma as detailed in sacred Bhagavad
Gita of Hinduism... all becomes clear by itself! As per the doctrine
of karma every single act... every single action... physical or
mental indulged by human beings is accounted for.
Positive karma...
good karma... Punya karma results in our accumulating positive points
on the scales of life. Negative karma... bad karma... our indulgence
in sin of any kind results in our accumulating a pileup of negative
influences that harm us in life.
Karma is the
accountant general of the cosmic system... as we sow so shall we
reap nothing less or more says the law of karma! We cannot expect
mangoes to grow on a guava tree. In the cosmic system there are
no free lunches.
Every single
human being reaps the fruits of karma performed! Those with a sunny
disposition and godly thinking experience happiness most of the
time. Others dominated by bloated ego... wanton desires and greed
for materialistic riches... suffer at the hands of fate!
Knowing well
that no single soul atman can affect the workings of another...
still, people continue blaming God Almighty for their woes! God
Almighty always acts as a Dhrista (onlooker)... never interfering
with the creation of his.
Karma remains
the controlling factor of the whole Cosmos... keeping record of
even the tiniest... the minutest actions unseen! As per the law
of karma even if we do not commit a murder physically yet think
about it... we get penalized!
It is quite
possible that by committing a murder if we invoke a negative marking
of -1000... Quite possible that committing a murder in our thinking
incurs a negative marking of minus one... almost thousand times
less! This is termed as Bhava karma in Jainism... the karma in thoughts!
