There is nothing
like instant karma in the cosmic system. Karma is that inherent
factor of the cosmic system that makes possible the transfer of
balance from one manifestation to another. The doctrine of karma
confirms the theory of rebirth (reincarnation). If the concept of
rebirth (reincarnation) did not exist... karma would not have existed
As per the doctrine
of karma we only get what we sow... Nothing more or less! In the
cosmic system there are no free lunches. All is the result of a
system that cannot err! The concept of karma stems from the fact
that it is our soul atman within that has manifested the body and
not vice versa. It is not within the capability of the body to manifest
a soul atman.
continuance of life is inbuilt in the cosmic system! The cosmic life span for
a soul atman approximates 96.4 million earthly years... a total of 8.4 million
manifestations! Life starts in the cosmic system initially as an amoeba (single
cell formation)... the first manifestation! It further evolves into multi-cell
formation, insect life, plant life, animal life and finally the form of a human
It is through
the complex process of karma life moves on in the cosmic system. Whatever the
residual balance of karma of the present manifestation at the time of death of
the body... the same becomes the opening balance of the next manifestation. If
the residual balance of karma of the present manifestation demands our taking
birth as a laborer again... so it shall be!
is not a process that human beings could manipulate. There is one element of karma...
the factor of Prarabdha karma that makes life worth living. If we have a negative
balance of karma from the previous manifestations... it is quite possible we suffer
at the hands of fate. If the residual balance of karma is positive... we might
win a lottery!
is not a western concept! It is ingrained into Hinduism scriptures as butter in
milk. To understand the concept of karma... the doctrine of karma one need understand
the Sacred Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna! The
law of karma is applicable to all living beings equally... no life can exist in
absence of karma!
one to gain enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) in this very life... one need cut across
the shackles of karma forever! Devoid of karma... the soul atman within regains
its original pristine pure form... the 8.4 millionth manifestation! Having reached
the end of cosmic life... one finally gains salvation (moksha)! Thereafter it
is a direct journey to the kingdom of God (aka Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
