coiled around the neck of Lord Shiva denote that Kundalini Shakti...
the dormant lying Kundalini energy is the most potent of all energies
available to human being. The moment this dormant Kundalini energy
lying in the base of the spine is fully activated... one reaches
the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation
(moksha).
Gaining enlightenment
and finally salvation is the end goal of every life... every human
being! Unless Kundalini Shakti is fully awakened... unless Kundalini
energy raises to the top behind the forehead... the Sahasrara Chakra
(thousand petalled Lotus) existing in our brain would never open
fully.
Normal human
beings use their brain 1%... the remaining 99% always remaining
dormant! Albert Einstein... the famous physicist used his brain
4%! Enlightened human beings after gaining enlightenment (kaivalya
jnana) used their brain hundred percent! The awakening of the Kundalini
Shakti activates the brain to full capacity... one finally gains
omniscience for all practical purposes!
The significance
of Cobras around the neck of Lord Shiva is apparent. For reaching
God... for reaching the kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism)...
full awakening of the Kundalini Shakti is necessitated! It is only
by traveling the spiritual path... by practicing absolute celibacy
for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation human beings awakened
Kundalini fully!
