Controlling
Negative Thoughts
Before establishing
control on thoughts... we need understanding that no human being
ever has an independent mind. The mind of the whole Cosmos is one.
Individual human beings and all other living beings only have a
brain that acts like a receiving and a broadcasting station.
All thoughts
float in the Cosmos every moment of time. No thought ever gets destroyed.
Human beings simply invoke thought either for the reservoir of mind
plus or mind minus. All positive thoughts emanate from the reservoir
of mind plus and negative thoughts from the reservoir of mind minus.
As is our residual
balance of karma... accordingly is the invocation of thoughts! Every
moment thousands of thoughts flow through the brain. Whether we
invoke them or not... the flow of thoughts is incessant! Only the
serious seekers of spirituality stem the flow of thoughts.
One who gains
enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi...
the stage of nothingness... when the flow of thoughts altogether
stops. Not even a single thought flows through the brain of an enlightened
one of its own!
Every enlightened
soul invokes thoughts as per ones command! This is what spirituality
and enlightenment is all about! Establishing control over the flow
of thoughts is the most difficult task on the path of meditation...
the last stage in fact!
Slowly establishing
absolute control over the five senses... one finally establishes
absolute control over mind powers. Without establishing control
over the five senses... control of flow of thoughts to the brain
cannot be contained! The flow of thoughts is not spontaneous or
all of a sudden!
Everything results
from a premeditated cause. As is our residual balance of karma...
accordingly is the flow of thoughts. Those indulging in vices, wanton
desires and greed for materialistic riches... invoke negative thoughts
all the time! Those with a sunny disposition invoke positive thoughts
all the time.
What to invoke
or what not to invoke is purely dependent upon us. Lying in the
Shavasana pose of yoga... one can stem the flow of thoughts slowly!
Meditation yoga is best practiced in the Shavasana pose of yoga.
