Lying in the
Shavasana pose of yoga... human beings reach those heights of meditation
yoga that are simply unparalleled! Shavasana pose of yoga not only
relaxes the body... it also considerably improves our power of concentration.
The relaxation of the body induces release of stresses and tensions
in the body.
And what is
this Shavasana pose of yoga? Lying in the dead pose... if we concentrate
on our breathing process... who inhales what and why? The process
of self inquiry... the rhythmic process of breathing leads one towards
less clutter in the brain. Lesser the thoughts invoked... better
is the concentration!
It is not the
human body but our soul atman... the spirit within (that seems to
reside within our heart) that needs oxygen to survive. By breathing
in 3 ~ 5 or 5 ~ 8 modes... one finally relaxes the body. While breathing...
we count one two three and while exhaling one two three four five!
Whatever suits the body must be practiced.
Meditation is
not what people world over project it to be. Meditation is not sitting
in a dark room concentrating on the center of a dimly lit bulb.
Meditation is the process, the path... for our soul atman to merge
with the greater atman... Parmatman... God Almighty himself! The
breathing process forms part of meditation and also the Shavasana
pose of yoga.
Lying in the
Shavasana pose of yoga... practicing Neti (not this, not this)...
I finally reached God in 1993 at 37 years of age. Reaching the end
of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation is the goal of
every form of yoga meditation. The moment human beings reached the
stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana)... the purpose of meditation
yoga is finally served.
