Bhava
Karma Yes...
thinking wrong of anyone means a sin has been committed. In Jainism this has been
termed as the doctrine of Bhava karma. If the physical injury incurs 100 negative
points on the scale of sinning... wrong thinking incurs less than 1% of the physical
injury. The factor of Bhava karma is not a fixed entity... all depends on the
magnitude of sin committed (whether physical or in thoughts). Gaining
control of five senses and the mind includes establishing control over Bhava karma
which is definitely a difficult task... but not impossible! Before gaining enlightenment
(kaivalya jnana) absolute control over Bhava karma is essential. Mahavira did
it... so did Gautama Buddha. Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed also followed the
same path! The
doctrine of Bhava karma plays very important role in the life of a spiritual seeker.
One simply cannot afford committing a sin even in thoughts. Mahavira rightly said
that gaining absolute control over Bhava karma is the last thing desired of every
spiritual seeker! Only then our soul atman within gains absolute purity and reaches
the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation! By:
