No religion is ridiculous. Every religion stems from the following of an enlightened one! Came Gautama Buddha... followed Buddhism! Arrived Jesus Christ... along came Christianity! The teachings of an enlightened one are never a farce but their interpretations taught by religious preachers have different connotations based on vested interests.

Religious preachers know nothing of the domain of God Almighty yet; all promise a seat in Heaven. Heaven (aka swarga in Hinduism) exists in the core of sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. It is in such high temperatures our soul atman feels comfortable. Still, can we say after the death of the body one gains a seat in Heaven?

religion is primarily meant for living the earthly sojourn of 70 to 80 years in a meaningful manner! In absence of religion mankind would reduce to animal kingdom. The laws of the society get maintained with backing from religion... never otherwise! In absence of religion... society would become promiscuous and go haywire!

religion simply confirms existence of God Almighty. To deal with day-to-day sins committed by human beings... varied prayers are offered to condone for sins committed knowingly or unknowingly. Worshiping God religiously and ritually is the inner strength of religion! In absence of temples, churches and mosques... mankind would lose its meaning!

If we desire pursuing God in our present earthly sojourn... we need embarking on the path of pure spirituality... the path advocated by Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Bhagavad Gita is the foremost of all sacred scriptures existing on Mother Earth. Knowing Bhagavad Gita one finally gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and then salvation (moksha).
