Choosing
religion
Choose the religion
I have... was that all really possible? One never chooses ones religion!
We are rather born into it. We get our religion by birth. The religion
of our parents becomes our religion. If I am born in a family of
Jains, I become a Jain when I grow up. None can alter this equation.
The residual balance of karma of our past demands so.
Having born
into a particular religion... one can always switchover to a different
religion. Choosing a religion is purely a matter of personal choice!
Even parents and teachers must never dictate upon the child to choose
a religion. Following a particular religious belief always comes
from within. One is always absolutely free to choose ones religious
belief.
Primarily
all religions lead to the same goal... the paths being different! For a serious
seeker of spirituality... choosing the right religious belief is of utmost importance.
No religion must ever become an impediment in our spiritual development. The true
essence of spirituality lies in the fact that we choose pearls of wisdom from
every religion. Remaining
in the religion we are born... one can always follow different religious beliefs.
It is not imperative to convert to a different religion to learn its tenets. Hinduism
is one such religion that can be followed by anyone world over without converting
into Hinduism religion. Hinduism truly is not a religion... it is a belief...
a doctrine... a way of life following which one reaches the stage of enlightenment
(kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha). Bhagavad
Gita... the sacred doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna forms the most important
scripture of Hinduism. Bhagavad Gita contains all that is worth knowing. The knower
of Bhagavad Gita finally becomes the knower of all. True followers of Bhagavad
Gita finally gain enlightenment and salvation. They reach the end of cosmic life! Truly
speaking one must never convert into another religion... rather remaining within
our religion we must try deciphering texts of the sacred scriptures of various
religions. Every religion contains something worth knowable. Disrespecting or
rejecting any religion carries no meaning. Atheists do not believe in the existence
of God. Does not mean... they do not believe in the existence of a higher power! Followers
of the spiritual path take the logical route. Whatever seems justified must be
accepted in Toto. Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed...
all gained enlightenment in their lifetime! All reached the same goal... the kingdom
of God (aka Vaikuntha in Hinduism). This is the end goal of human life. Reaching
the 8.4 millionth manifestation announces the end of the cosmic journey! Essay
