Those who run after ephemeral riches of life... seek a religious preacher... a religious teacher! True seekers of spirituality never require a Guru unless one desires seeking God in ones lifetime. When 11 years of age I wanted to see and meet God. It was a simple desire of a village boy! By 13 the lion within roared... come whatever may in this very life I shall see and meet God!

However best I tried I could not get a spiritual master to guide me. In exasperation one-day I point blank told god Almighty that I shall meet the same fate as Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa had! One day in exasperation Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa took the sword hanging on the wall and decided to cut his head and offer it to Kali if God Almighty did not bless him face-to-face.

I do not remember what happened... but in a few days I reached the stage of self realization... the last in cosmic life cycle! Spiritual masters are not to be found in present times. The religious householder and religious preachers of present times simply seek God as they desire material riches galore. Seekers of the spiritual path need not even go to a temple, church or mosque!

We must not confuse religion with spirituality... both have different connotations! Mahavira... the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism (preceptor) rightly said, do not preach until you have become an enlightened one! Mahavira always said... become a Mahavira before preaching anything... one who had gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana).

Enlightenment and salvation is difficult to gain... the prime reason why in the last 150 years amongst 7 billion people world over only two persons reached the stage of enlightenment... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana! Both these spiritual stalwarts belonged to India... both were down-to-earth people who laid their lives for the benefit of mankind!

In the circumstances it is best we take care of ourselves... try reaching the stage of enlightenment before thinking of others! We cannot change the masses or their thinking but we can definitely attempt in present lifetime to reach that stage of enlightenment and salvation. Concentrating on our goal of life and taking care of our family should be our priority all the time.
