Krishna godhead

Lord Krishna is considered the supreme personality of godhead by Iskcon and Hare Krishna mission... the reason being the powers manifest in Lord Krishna even as a child has no parallel in the history of mankind. Lord Krishna is considered as an Avatar... God Almighty manifest in human form. He came about 3600 years before... about 1000 years before Mahavira.

Vedas are the first documents... sacred scriptures made available to mankind by God Almighty. They are direct dictates of God Almighty. Being voluminous in nature it was difficult for the masses to understand the gist of the Vedas.

After the advent of Lord Krishna... the voluminous four Vedas (Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda) were condensed to the Sacred Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine given to the mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata.

Bhagavad Gita contains everything that is worth knowable by mankind. Having known the gist of Bhagavad Gita... every human being can gain enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha).

In the whole history of mankind... nothing is more precious or sacred than Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine by Lord Krishna. The preaching's of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita explain the basic fundamentals of life including the evolution of the Cosmos, how the big bang occurred, the manifest life of souls atmans passing through a cosmic cycle of 8.4 million manifestations, the meaning of heaven and hell, the concept of karma, reincarnation and what not.

One who assimilates the teachings of Bhagavad Gita ultimately reaches the stage of salvation and gains entry into the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism)... a point of no return!
