Dishonesty
If people are dishonest...
are we supposed to worry? Who gave us this right! In the cosmic
system of things everything in life has two facets. If we have God
at plus hundred... we also have Satan at minus hundred. We have
day... we also have night. We have fire... we also have water. In
absence of one... the other loses its meaning. If the society was
totally honest... life would become so monotonous... it would lose
its meaning!
In the Cosmos
everything moves full circle. Sometimes honesty is at its peak...
at other times dishonesty shows its fangs. In Satyuga... almost
95% people practice honesty... in the present Kali Yuga we hardly
find even 10% honest. None can control this. If the clock rings
4 a.m. in the morning... it shall ring 5 AM next. The needle of
the clock cannot jump from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. it just cannot be!
Let
me illustrate above with an example- A
king who was proud of his achievements and administration once decided to test
the ground realities of his kingdom. He got a huge pond constructed in the centre
of the town. He got announced that every single citizen of the kingdom shall bring
a pot full of one liter of milk and pour it in the pond. As
advised people from all corners of the kingdom made a beeline and by the morning
the pond was full. The king had observed the whole scenario while donning the
clothes of a keeper (none recognized the king in the changed garb). To
the astonishment of the king... not even a single person had emptied pot that
contained milk. Every pot had contained water. The thinking of every individual
was, in such a big pond of milk what would my pot of water effect. (Everyone anticipated
the other to do ones job dutifully). Even the courtiers and people in power had
poured water. Similar
is the situation now... everyone keeps worrying of others. In truth we are simply
supposed to carry out our duties absolutely unmindful of what others are doing.
The teacher gives the same knowledge to all students... yet, one comes first and
the other last! To follow or not to follow is the prerogative of every student.
In the circumstances can the teacher help! Mahavira...
the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism always stated that first become Mahavira and then
preach... today we find a horde of religious and spiritual teachers trying to
disseminate wisdom to the masses, absolutely unconcerned of their achievements.
We always need
to remember that it is the doctrine of karma that governs the destiny of mankind.
As we perform so shall we get... nothing less or more! We may be dishonest today...
all shall be repaid back to us in the coming future. Where is the cause for worry?
