Losing faith in God is like losing faith in the self. We sometimes fail to realize that in reality the soul (atman in Hinduism) present within our heart is of the same essence as God Almighty himself. For losing faith in God Almighty means we have lost track of our own soul (atman) within our body.

It is at this moment of time we feel ourselves completely lost in time! Nothing... practically nothing on earth can bring us to the level of tranquility we felt when we had absolute faith in God!

Losing faith in God is reaching the stage of hopelessness! Non believers of God are not totally devoid of a belief. Atheists may not believe in the existence of a God... but they do believe in the existence of some supernatural power that runs the whole system... the whole Cosmos! It is this belief in the supernatural that keeps them going!

If we are afraid of becoming absolutely alone sometimes... we better believe and have faith in the system of God. Keeping in touch with God means keeping in touch with our soul (atman) within our heart and this pulsating real truth of life (our soul) is the real essence of life.
