Battle
of Kurukshetra
The battle
of Mahabharata was fought between the Pandavas and the Kauravas
in the battle field of Kurushetra that lay in Haryana state of India.
Kuru stands for Kurushetra... and the battle was fought in the adjoining
large barren fields of Kurushetra.
It is in this
battle between Pandava King Arjuna and Kaurava King Duryodhana...
the sermon of Bhagavad Gita was given by Lord Krishna to Pandava
King Arjuna! Bhagavad Gita forms the essence of life! The teachings
of Bhagavad Gita contained everything worth knowable.
The knower of
Bhagavad Gita finally becomes the knower of all... gains omniscience
for all practical purposes! The battle of Kurushetra is remembered
for it was a battle between Dharma (righteousness) and adharma (lawlessness).
Dharma had to win at any costs.
